VITAL STRATEGIES

QDIC, a development support consultancy based in Uganda, collaborated with Vital Strategies and KCCA to produce audio and video content for the “Speeding Kills Slow Down” campaign. This initiative aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding among motorcyclists in Uganda and the general public, emphasising that speeding significantly increases the risk of fatal crashes.

Speeding-related crashes in Uganda result in approximately 3500 fatalities annually, leaving numerous families devastated and communities grieving. Urgent action was required to address this critical issue and reduce the alarming number of road traffic accidents.

QDIC developed testimonial and instructional videos and audio content as part of the campaign to combat this concerning trend and promote road safety. The campaign adopted a serious and impactful tone, delivering a compelling message urging the audience to adhere to traffic regulations and refrain from speeding to save lives.

The “Speeding Kills Slow Down” campaign, supported by QDIC, holds significant potential to make a lasting impact on reducing speeding among motorcyclists in Uganda. By raising awareness, encouraging behaviour change, and fostering collaboration among authorities and riders, this campaign has the power to save lives, prevent injuries, and cultivate a culture of responsible driving. Through collective efforts, we can strive for a safer and more secure future for all Ugandan road users, ensuring that no more lives are lost due to speeding-related crashes.

The collaboration between QDIC, Vital Strategies, and KCCA for the “Speeding Kills Slow Down” campaign represents a crucial step towards addressing the pervasive issue of speeding-related crashes in Uganda. Together, we have crafted impactful audio and video content to raise awareness, inspire behaviour change, and ultimately save lives on the roads.
